Rothschild & Co’s UK Wealth Management business names James Morrell as Deputy CEO

James Morrell

Rothschild & Co’s UK Wealth Management business has appointed James Morrell as Deputy CEO. James has been UK Head of Front Office for Wealth Management for seven years, having originally joined as a Client Adviser in 2010.

The newly created Deputy CEO role will provide increased capacity at a senior level to help meet the growing demand for Rothschild & Co’s services from existing and future clients, as well as bolstering long-term, strategic succession planning and management stability.

James will continue to report to Helen Watson, UK Wealth Management CEO, who he has worked with for almost two decades both at Rothschild & Co and, before that, at Morgan Stanley. A new Head of Front Office is being recruited.

“I am very proud of the growth of our business in recent years as more clients entrust us with their wealth. James’s appointment to Deputy CEO enables us to continue to plan and invest for the future. Moreover, from a vantage point of seven generations of Rothschild family ownership, we are also ‘practising what we preach’ to our clients by focusing on our own long-term succession plans,” said Helen Watson, Rothschild & Co’s UK Wealth Management CEO. “James is ideally suited to the role as through his years leading our Client Adviser teams, he has been instrumental in building our industry-leading reputation for client service.”

“Our priority remains to preserve and grow wealth for our clients over the long term through an acute focus on exceptional client service and investment performance,” said James Morrell, Rothschild & Co’s UK Wealth Management Deputy CEO. “I am excited to take on this new role working closely with Helen as we continue to invest in our business and further enhance our offering to clients.”

Rothschild & Co has invested significantly in its UK Wealth Management business which has resulted in AUM doubling in the last five years. Fernanda Rosset was recently appointed Head of UK HNW Wealth Management, focused on further developing the proposition for those HNW individuals, to ensure that more people, including the next generation, can make informed choices at an earlier stage of their wealth creation journey.
